Strawberry Shortcake

As nice as it might look, it was a little bit of, well, not a disaster, but something to contend with nonetheless. Yes, this is something that I made pretty much myself...for a first attempt, it went pretty well...as far as shortcake goes, it was very thick, and a tad dense...took me about 10 minutes to cut the damn thing into quarters. The Creme Anglaise which went underneath the strawberries and the strawberry jam & Grand Marnier sauce which went on top of said strawberries...got a bit runny.

BUT! There's a but...it was nice, although a tad rich...but you get that.

If there's a next time, which I'd assume there would be, I'll know to make the Creme Alglaise much thicker, the sauce much thicker, use less shortcake dough (or a bigger container), use more selfraising flower and less plain flower(or a bigger tin)...and yeah.
